The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the signing of a Taj hotel in Mysore, marking the iconic brand’s entry into the city.

On February 6, 2025, The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) announced its expansion into Mysore by launching a Taj hotel. The Executive Vice President of IHCL, Ms. Suma Venkatesh, highlighted that the move reflects the company’s commitment to expanding the Taj brand in key markets across India, owing to Mysore’s growing presence as a diversified hospitality market.

The Taj Mysore, a 141-key hotel, is centrally located near the Mall of Mysore and offers a regal Indo-Sarcenic experience blending with the city’s historical architecture. The hotel provides a variety of amenities, including a spa, gym, swimming pool, and a spacious banqueting area of over 11,000 sq. ft., suitable for both corporate and social events.

DM South India Hospitality Pvt Ltd, the partner in this venture, expressed delight at growing its association with IHCL. Director Mr. Sushen Mohan Gupta expressed confidence that Taj Mysore will cater to the increasing demand for luxury hospitality and elevate the tourism potential of Mysore. Mr. Utkarsh Munot of DM South India Hospitality Pvt. Ltd also emphasized the partnership’s potential to create lasting impressions on their guests.

Mysore, the cultural capital of Karnataka, is a city rich in history and heritage. With iconic attractions such as the Mysore Palace and Chamundi Hills, it draws tourists worldwide. The addition of this hotel increases IHCL’s presence in Karnataka to 23 hotels, including 10 under development.
