IHCL Signs Agreement for Taj Hotel in Weligama, Sri Lanka

Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced the signing of a Taj hotel in Weligama, Sri Lanka, with a project comprising 220 keys, including 80 luxury apartments.

IHCL has signed an agreement for a new Taj hotel in Weligama, Sri Lanka. The greenfield development will feature 220 keys, including 80 luxury apartments, in partnership with Beryll Group.

The planned Taj Weligama will be a beachfront resort with views of the Indian Ocean. The property will offer an all-day dining restaurant, two specialty restaurants, a beach bar and grill, a bar and lounge, and a deli. Facilities will include the J Wellness Circle, a kids’ playroom, an entertainment zone, a gym, and a swimming pool.

For events and gatherings, the hotel will provide a banquet hall and convention facilities spanning over 9,000 square feet, as well as meeting rooms and exclusive lawns.

Weligama is situated along Sri Lanka’s southern coast and is recognized for its crescent-shaped bay and surf-friendly waters. The development is described as strengthening the Taj brand’s presence in the region.
