The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has signed an agreement to open a new Ginger hotel in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. This project is a greenfield development located on Kalpi Road, near Kamala Cricket Club. The hotel will feature 100 rooms and is designed to offer convenient access to key business and leisure areas in the city.
The new Ginger Kanpur will feature several amenities, including a Qmin restaurant, a bar, a meeting room, and a fitness center. These facilities cater to both business and leisure travelers, offering a blend of work and recreational options.
This development is part of IHCL’s strategy to expand the Ginger brand in emerging cities across India. The company has partnered with JK Urbanscapes Developers Limited for this project. This collaboration builds upon the existing relationship between IHCL and JK Urbanscapes Developers Limited, aiming to enhance the city’s hospitality infrastructure in Kanpur.
With the addition of the Ginger Kanpur, IHCL will have a total of 34 hotels in Uttar Pradesh, including 21 that are currently under development. This expansion aligns with IHCL’s broader growth strategy to increase its presence in key markets across the country.
The timeline for the hotel’s opening has not been specified, but the project is part of a larger effort to strengthen the Ginger brand’s footprint in the region.
IHCL’s decision to expand in Kanpur is influenced by the city’s status as a significant manufacturing and commercial hub in Uttar Pradesh. The new hotel is anticipated to meet the growing demand for quality accommodation in the area, driven by business activities and tourism.
