IHG Army Hotels has completed renovations at properties on Fort Polk in Louisiana, Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri, and White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico, with additional upgrades planned into 2026 and a new Candlewood Suites opening at Fort Bragg in North Carolina.
IHG Army Hotels, in partnership with Centinel, has completed renovations at several properties on U.S. Army installations as part of the ongoing Privatization of Army Lodging (PAL) program, which began in 2009. The IHG Army Hotels portfolio includes more than 13,000 rooms across 40 Army installations.
At Fort Polk, Louisiana, the Magnolia House and Cypress Inn— the first branded IHG Army Hotels properties and inaugural PAL hotels—underwent a multi-million dollar renovation project in 2025. The project included comprehensive interior and exterior renovations, updated room configurations to better support extended training stays and permanent change-of-station transitions, and an expansion of room capacity to 98.
At Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, the former Foster Lodge was rebranded as a Holiday Inn Express and received updates to 66 guest rooms, including the addition of kitchenettes for both short visits and extended stays. Communal spaces were enhanced with a redesigned lobby and covered outdoor patio. Additional improvements included energy-efficient LED lighting, landscaping, new furniture, fixtures, HVAC equipment, flooring, a new Suite Shop, fitness center, renovated laundry facility, and new elevators.
At White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico, the Organ Mountains Inn became the 16th hotel to join the IHG Army Hotels Historia Collection. Originally built in 1951, the property was renovated with a new climate-control system, motion-sensing LED lighting, Energy Star appliances, a redesigned lobby, expanded fitness and dining facilities, and new guest-room furnishings. The Inn’s 58 rooms were updated to maintain the building’s historic character while adding modern amenities.
Additional renovations are planned to begin or continue into 2026. A newly constructed Candlewood Suites is scheduled to open at Fort Bragg in North Carolina.
IHG Army Hotels operates through a partnership with Centinel, the owner and developer responsible for the PAL program’s modernization efforts. The company’s properties include brands such as Holiday Inn Express and Candlewood Suites, with a focus on ongoing modernization of on-post lodging for service members, their families, and guests.
