IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed its first Hotel Indigo property in Menorca, Spain. Set to open in the summer of 2026, this strategic development marks Spain’s eighth Hotel Indigo property.

The Hotel Indigo Menorca provides IHG with an opportunity to solidify its presence in the Balearic Islands, complementing its existing Mallorca properties—the Kimpton Aysla Mallorca, the recently signed Vignette Collection Mallorca, and Six Senses Ibiza.

Housed in a 75-key conversion property, Hotel Indigo Menorca is an ideal destination for travelers seeking a one-of-a-kind, locally-inspired experience. The hotel is situated in Mahón, the island’s capital, and offers a port view. With excellent transport links, including proximity to Menorca Airport, the hotel provides an ideal base for exploring the island.

Hotel Indigo Menorca will offer an array of luxurious amenities, including private terraces in every room, a sea-view restaurant, a bar offering local flavors, and an outdoor pool. The hotel’s location, known for its 300 days of sunshine, pristine beaches, and tranquil charm, is expected to attract international guests.

In line with the Hotel Indigo brand ethos of reflecting the local neighborhood, the Menorca property will incorporate the island’s story into the guest experience. Located directly opposite Isla del Rey and the renowned Hauser & Wirth art center, the hotel is set to become an integral part of the community, inviting guests to immerse themselves in Menorca’s captivating cultural and coastal allure.

Willemijn Geels, Vice President, Development, Europe, IHG Hotels & Resorts, spoke about the rapidly expanding Hotel Indigo brand, which aims to capture the spirit of local neighborhoods worldwide. Ms. Geels expressed delight at IHG’s growth in Spain, crediting the local knowledge of their partners at Senator Hotels & Resorts, which is instrumental in differentiating IHG from competitors in the market.

Daniel Rossell, Owner of Senator Hotels & Resorts, also expressed enthusiasm about the expanding partnership with IHG, highlighting IHG’s industry leadership and collaborative approach.

The signing of Hotel Indigo Menorca strengthens IHG’s presence in Spain and adds to the growing portfolio of Hotel Indigo properties in the country. As of December 31, 2024, IHG operates 57 hotels in Spain, with an additional 15 in development.
