IHG Hotels & Resorts has agreed with Ananya Group (Prabhukrupa Estates & Properties) to establish a Holiday Inn hotel in Puri, a city in India. The hotel, with 100 rooms, is projected to open by late 2028. This move is part of IHG’s ongoing effort to expand its footprint in rapidly growing markets across India.

The forthcoming Holiday Inn Puri will offer the brand’s innovative Open Lobby concept, designed to provide a versatile space where guests can work, dine, or relax. Located by the Bay of Bengal, Puri is known for the historic Jagannath Temple and attracts over 2 million tourists annually. Besides its religious significance, Puri is a popular beach destination offering a blend of spiritual and leisure experiences.

The new hotel will provide scenic sea views and three flexible meeting spaces, including a large ballroom for social events and MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) opportunities. Due to its excellent road and air connectivity, it is expected to cater to both spiritual and leisure travellers.

Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, expressed excitement over the partnership with Ananya Group, highlighting Puri’s growing appeal as a destination for MICE and weddings. The Holiday Inn Puri is strategically located to cater to these markets while giving guests a taste of the city’s rich cultural and religious heritage.

IHG currently operates 46 hotels across five brands in India and anticipates opening an additional 58 hotels in the next 3-5 years.
