IHG Hotels & Resorts has reiterated its commitment to growth in Mexico, Latin America, and the Caribbean (MLAC) region. The hotel chain has nearly 400 operational and pipeline properties throughout the region, offering a variety of choices for both business and leisure travellers.
IHG maintains a significant Luxury & Lifestyle presence in the MLAC region. The hotel chain plans to add 32 hotels in the coming years. This follows the 2024 openings of Six Senses La Sagesse Grenada, Kimpton Mas Olas Resort and Spa, and Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman. Some of these properties will offer branded residences and guest rooms and suites.
The hotel chain also provides a mix of iconic and emerging midscale brands in the region, including over 200 operational and pipeline properties across the Holiday Inn brand family. The growing Avid Hotels brand is set to more than double its reach in Mexico, with nine new properties, including a dual brand pairing with Candlewood Suites in Torreon. Atwell Suites, designed for travellers needing flexible space, will make its regional debut in Costa Rica as part of a recently signed dual brand pairing with Holiday Inn.
Furthermore, the Kimpton Monterrey is scheduled to open in 2026, bringing a new boutique luxury hotel and branded residences to Mexico’s second largest economic market. The hotel will be a part of the Torre Rise, set to be the tallest tower in Latin America upon completion. The hotel will provide panoramic city and mountain views, along with signature inspired bar and restaurant experiences.
Additional recent and notable IHG branded property openings and signings throughout the region include:

- InterContinental Presidente Monterrey: Opened in January 2025, InterContinental Presidente Monterrey stands tall above the city’s San Pedro Garza Garcia neighborhood and offers scenic views of the Sierra Madre de Chipinque mountains. The hotel’s nearly 300 guest rooms provide tranquil unwinding space while also integrating touches of the personalized service and luxurious amenities that have defined the world-leading InterContinental brand for more than 75 years.
- SOUMA Hotel Lima, Vignette Collection: The first South American Vignette Collection hotel opened in March 2025 with minimalist design and décor inspired by Peru’s Pacaya Samiria Nature Reserve. Located in Lima’s vibrant Miraflores neighborhood and adjacent to the Pacific Ocean, SOUMA Hotel Lima invites guests into a harmonious oasis defined by three signature restaurants, an expansive rooftop with a heated infinity pool, and the Bambu Spa. SOUMA Hotel Lima also is the first of several planned IHG Luxury & Lifestyle hotels in the Peruvian capital, with the InterContinental Real Lima Miraflores and Hotel Indigo Lima Miraflores scheduled to open later this year.
- voco Hermosillo: Reopened in late 2024 following an extensive conversion, the 138 room voco Hermosillo invites guests to “come on in” and experience the premium brand’s familiar charm and modern and thoughtful design. Located on the heavily traveled Kino Boulevard, voco Hermosillo offers convenient access to major regional corporate offices (Deloitte, Pepsico) along with notable city attractions such as the Cathedral of Hermosillo, the Sonora Museum of Art and La Ruina Park.
- avid hotel Queretaro Centro Sur: Opened in March 2025, avid hotel Queretaro Centro Sur is the brand’s fifth Mexico property and first in the state of Queretaro. The hotel brings avid hotels’ “essentials done exceptionally well at a fair price” promise to the bustling area, offering a new alternative for travelers seeking quality, comfort and convenience in the mid-range segment. avid hotel Queretaro Centro Sur also boasts proximity to many of the state’s most visited destinations and cultural outlets, including the Acueducto de Querétaro, the Querétaro Congress Center and Corregidora Stadium.
- Kimpton Monterrey: Scheduled to open in 2026, Kimpton Monterrey will bring a new boutique luxury hotel and branded residences to Mexico’s second largest economic market. Kimpton Monterrey will occupy space in the new build, mixed use Torre Rise, which will be the tallest tower in Latin America upon its completion. In addition to panoramic city and mountain views, the hotel will invite guests to sample its signature inspired bar and restaurant experiences through a full-service restaurant and 16th floor lobby lounge.
