IHG has debuted nine of its hotel brands in 13 European countries since the start of 2024, with open and pipeline hotels surpassing 1,100.

IHG Hotels & Resorts has successfully launched nine of its individual hotel brands across 13 European countries since the beginning of 2024. This expansion includes brands from its four segments: Luxury & Lifestyle, Premium, Essentials, and Suites.

The company’s European business, encompassing the UK and Ireland, now boasts more than 1,100 open and pipeline hotels. This growth is largely attributed to the trust from owners in IHG’s enterprise and the increasing demand from guests for the unique experiences offered by its brands.

Karin Sheppard, SVP and Managing Director, Europe, IHG Hotels & Resorts, expressed that their focus on high-growth markets is reflected in the number of country entries made by their brands in recent months. The burgeoning portfolio, with over 1,100 hotels open or in development across 39 countries, signifies an exciting future for their business in Europe.

IHG’s six brands in the Luxury & Lifestyle segment continue to expand across Europe, representing 12% of current Europe open hotels and 27% of its development pipeline. The company’s collection brand, Vignette Collection, made its debut in the UK and Hungary in 2024, with a new signing in Greece scheduled soon.

The company’s Premium segment, including the voco, Crowne Plaza, and Ruby brands, witnessed record conversion activity globally in 2024. IHG acquired the Ruby Hotels brand in February 2025 and announced its first two signings shortly after.

In the Essentials segment, which makes up almost 70% of IHG’s European footprint, the company marked the European debut for its new midscale conversion brand, Garner Hotels, in 2024.

The growing demand for extended stays is reflected in IHG’s Europe pipeline for its Suites portfolio of brands, which surpasses the current system size, indicating healthy future growth prospects.

As of the end of 2024, IHG has 878 open hotels across 39 countries in Europe, with 260 more in development. Its largest markets include the UK, Germany, France, and Spain.
