Eight new hotels signed across Luxury & Lifestyle, Premium and Essentials collections

IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to expand its UK and Ireland market with eight new hotels, adding more than 900 rooms. The new properties will be in key locations, including Leeds, London, and Reading.

The new hotels will feature a range of IHG brands, from the luxury Hotel Indigo and premium Crowne Plaza to the first Garner hotels launched just 18 months ago. This signing significantly increases IHG’s footprint in the UK and Ireland, where it already operates 362 hotels and has another 25 in the pipeline.

This growth aligns with a recent report from Cushman & Wakefield, highlighting that UK hotel investment reached a five-year high at the end of 2024. With a decrease in new developments since 2020, there’s been an increased focus on conversion opportunities. This trend is evident in IHG’s growth, with its voco and Garner brands seeing a significant increase in their UK and Ireland pipelines.

The Hotel Indigo brand continues to be popular, with 19 open hotels in destinations across the UK and Ireland. IHG’s Holiday Inn Express brand, which has over 146 regional open hotels, recently launched its new Generation 5 public space design.

Joanna Kurowska, VP and Managing Director UK & Ireland at IHG Hotels & Resorts, expressed excitement about the portfolio’s growth and highlighted the strong demand for IHG’s brands. She also noted the addition of two new IHG hotels in London, a city experiencing healthy growth.

The new hotel signings are distributed across the UK. They include the Hotel Indigo Leeds, the voco London – Marylebone, the voco Corby, the Crowne Plaza East Midlands Airport, Garner Hotel Preston Samlesbury, Garner Hotel Reading – City Centre, Garner Hotel Nottingham – City Centre, and the Holiday Inn Express London – Woolwich.
