IHG Hotels & Resorts has appointed Mark Sergot as Chief Development Officer for the Americas region.

IHG Hotels & Resorts has named Mark Sergot as Chief Development Officer (CDO) for the Americas, effective January 15, 2026. Sergot will oversee IHG’s development strategy and pipeline across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

Sergot joined IHG in 2020 as Vice President of Global Sales Operations & Enablement. Since 2022, he has served as Senior Vice President of Global Sales, leading the Americas and Global Accounts teams. In his new role, Sergot will be responsible for growing IHG’s hotel deal pipeline across the company’s Luxury & Lifestyle, Premium, Essentials, and Suites portfolios. He will also focus on strengthening relationships with hotel owners and identifying opportunities in strategic growth markets within the region.

Sergot’s appointment follows more than 25 years of experience in sales leadership roles in the hospitality sector, including over 16 years at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts before joining IHG. He also serves as IHG’s representative on the Board of the U.S. Travel Association.

The Americas region is IHG’s largest, and the company has stated that the appointment is intended to support its growth strategy and development objectives in the area.
