IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed an agreement with Samco Holding for Development to open a Holiday Inn Express in Cairo’s emerging New Administrative Capital.
Scheduled to open in 2030, the Holiday Inn Express Cairo New Capital, managed by Ishraq Hospitality, will feature 125 rooms. The hotel is designed to cater to travelers seeking a contemporary, efficient space for rest and work. It will implement the brand’s Generation 5 design, merging lifestyle-focused hospitality with the practical needs of business travelers.
The hotel will be located in “The Five,” a mixed-use development in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital. This strategic city has been built as part of Egypt Vision 2030 to stimulate the country’s economic development. The city is rapidly becoming a crucial business and innovation center, drawing local and international visitors with its planning and accessibility. The hotel’s location will provide easy access to key government and commercial entities, modern infrastructure, educational institutions, hospitals, public parks, and cultural landmarks.
The New Administrative Capital is a significant part of Egypt’s economic growth strategy, making this collaboration with Samco Holding for Development a strategic expansion for IHG Hotels & Resorts. Introducing Holiday Inn Express to this city aligns with the company’s growth strategy in key cities.
Holiday Inn Express is a global brand with over 3,100 properties worldwide. The brand’s Generation 5 design offers design flexibility and scalability, which is cost-conscious while continuing to drive performance and returns.
Currently, IHG operates seven hotels across four brands in Egypt: InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, and Staybridge Suites. The company is planning to open 21 more hotels within the next 2-5 years.
