IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Jadeer Group to open a 120-room Hotel Indigo in New Cairo in 2031.
IHG Hotels & Resorts announced a management agreement with Jadeer Group to introduce a Hotel Indigo property in New Cairo, Egypt. The planned 120-room hotel is scheduled to open in 2031 and will be part of the Red (G) mixed-use development. This development will include residential, retail, and hospitality components and is located on North 90 Street, a prominent area in New Cairo. The site is near the New Administrative Capital and the American University in Cairo, as well as other emerging business and leisure destinations.
The agreement is part of IHG’s strategy to expand its Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio in Northern Africa. The Hotel Indigo brand is renowned for its properties that reflect the uniqueness of their neighborhoods, and the New Cairo location aims to seamlessly integrate the city’s heritage and contemporary culture into the guest experience.
IHG currently operates eight hotels in Egypt under four brands: InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, and Staybridge Suites. The company has a pipeline of 22 additional hotels planned for the country, indicating a long-term commitment to the Egyptian hospitality market.
The partnership with Jadeer Group marks a significant step in IHG’s expansion plans in Egypt, aligning with the country’s National Tourism Strategy. The New Cairo hotel is expected to cater to both local and international travelers, offering a hospitality experience that highlights the area’s cultural and design elements.
