IHG Hotels & Resorts has partnered with Urban Property Group to open a 217-room Crowne Plaza hotel in Parramatta, scheduled to open in 2029.

IHG Hotels & Resorts announced a collaboration with Urban Property Group to develop a new Crowne Plaza hotel in Parramatta, Sydney. The hotel, set to open in 2029, will feature 217 rooms and will be located in a mixed-use development directly opposite Parramatta Train Station. This location offers direct connectivity to the Westfield Parramatta shopping precinct.

The Crowne Plaza Parramatta will feature various dining options, including an all-day restaurant and a lobby bar. Additionally, the hotel will provide flexible meeting and event spaces, along with a rooftop infinity pool and outdoor terrace. These facilities aim to cater to business travelers, event delegates, and leisure guests.

Parramatta is recognized as Sydney’s second central business district, with significant developments in commerce, education, health, and the arts. The area is experiencing increased visitor numbers due to cultural investments like the new Powerhouse Parramatta Museum and the expanded Riverside Theatre precinct. The upcoming Western Sydney International Airport, expected to open in 2026, is anticipated to further enhance accessibility to the region.

This development is part of IHG’s strategy to expand the Crowne Plaza brand, which currently includes 415 open hotels and 144 properties in the pipeline worldwide. The addition of Crowne Plaza Parramatta will join other Australian locations such as Crowne Plaza Sydney Darling Harbour, Crowne Plaza Melbourne, and Crowne Plaza Adelaide Mawson Lakes.
