IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement to open the first Kimpton hotel in Indonesia, located in Ubud, Bali, by early 2026.
IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to introduce the Kimpton brand to Indonesia with the opening of Kimpton Bali Ubud. This will be the first Kimpton hotel in the country and is scheduled to open in early 2026. The hotel will be located in Ubud, Bali, marking IHG’s first property in this cultural region.
The development is a result of a management agreement between IHG, PT Mustika Adiperkasa, and GHS K.K. The hotel will feature 101 rooms and will be situated along the WOS River, within walking distance of Ubud Palace. The location is approximately 90 minutes from Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar.
Kimpton Bali Ubud will include three restaurants and a café/deli, as well as wellness amenities such as a gym, spa, and swimming pool. The hotel will also introduce the restaurant IMAMURA, in partnership with GHS K.K., offering Japanese dining led by Michelin-starred Chef Imamura.
This development is part of IHG’s strategy to expand its luxury and lifestyle presence in Indonesia. The company currently operates 31 hotels in the country, with an additional 11 in the pipeline. Kimpton Bali Ubud will join IHG’s existing portfolio, which includes properties like Regent Bali Canggu and Six Senses Uluwatu.
The introduction of Kimpton in Ubud aligns with a trend of travelers seeking diverse experiences across different regions of Bali. The hotel aims to provide a unique experience in Bali’s cultural and spiritual heart, complementing the existing options available to visitors.
IHG’s expansion in Indonesia reflects the growing demand for luxury and lifestyle accommodations in the region. The company’s partnership with GHS K.K. is expected to strengthen its presence in the market and offer more choices for travelers visiting Bali.
Kimpton Hotels’ entry into Indonesia is part of its broader expansion strategy, which includes upcoming openings in locations such as Kuala Lumpur, Frankfurt, Marbella, Riyadh, Hainan, Crete, and Hong Kong.
The new Kimpton Bali Ubud is expected to attract culturally curious travelers with its proximity to attractions like the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, Tegallalang Rice Terraces, and Ubud Palace. The hotel aims to offer a balance of cultural immersion and relaxation for its guests.
