IHG to Open Holiday Inn in Siliguri in 2027
IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement to open a 111-room Holiday Inn in Siliguri, India, in 2027.
IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of a management agreement with Four Vedas Hotels & Resorts Private Limited to open a Holiday Inn in Siliguri, West Bengal, India. The hotel is scheduled to open in 2027 and will feature 111 rooms. This development is part of IHG’s strategy to expand its presence in secondary markets across India.
Siliguri is located at the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas and serves as a significant commercial gateway for North-East India. The city serves as a strategic trade corridor with neighboring countries, including Nepal, Bangladesh, and Bhutan, which contributes to its role as a hub for cross-border commerce, logistics, and transportation. The location is expected to generate strong demand for international-branded hotels from both business and leisure travelers.
The Holiday Inn Siliguri will incorporate the brand’s Open Lobby concept, which provides a multifunctional space for dining, working, and relaxation. The hotel will be strategically positioned in the city center to attract demand from the growing MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) sector, local business hubs, and leisure tourism.
The hotel will offer three dining options, two flexible meeting venues, and a fitness center. It aims to cater to a diverse range of guests, including corporate travelers, MICE participants, and tourists visiting the Himalayan region.
IHG currently operates 51 hotels across six brands in India, with a pipeline of 72 additional hotels planned to open in the next three to five years.
