The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the signing of a new resort in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. This development is part of the company’s expansion strategy in emerging markets across India. The project will be under IHCL’s Gateway brand.

The Gateway Ayodhya resort will feature 150 rooms and be situated on a 1.56-acre site. The hotel aims to provide a luxurious experience for guests, with facilities including a dining restaurant, specialty restaurant, bar, swimming pool, fitness center, and spa. It will also accommodate events with a large banquet hall and meeting rooms.

The project is a collaboration between IHCL and the LD Ladhani Group, a diverse business conglomerate with operations in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi NCR. This is not the first time these two entities have teamed up, and both parties expressed enthusiasm about continuing to work together.

Ayodhya attracts many tourists each year due to its status as a pilgrimage site.

Upon completion, this will be IHCL’s fourth hotel in Ayodhya, bringing their total to 29 hotels in Uttar Pradesh, with 16 more under development.

The Indian Hotels Company Limited was founded by Jamsetji Tata and opened its first hotel, The Taj Mahal Palace, in Bombay in 1903. Today, IHCL has a portfolio of 345 hotels, including 115 under development across four continents, 13 countries, and over 130 locations.
