Netflix continues to be a key second home for indie darlings distributed by Vertical. The latest title from the distributor to secure a spot on the US release calendar is the gritty, “one crazy day” comedy Bunny.

The film, which made waves on the festival circuit last year with premieres at SXSW and Tribeca, saw a limited theatrical and VOD release in late 2025. Now, just a few months later, it is ready for its streaming debut on Netflix in the US.

We can confirm that Bunny will be available to stream on Netflix US starting Friday, February 13th, 2026.

This is one of many movies that Netflix has served as the SVOD streaming debut for the distributor Vertical, with Stone Cold Fox and The Threesome being recent examples, and others like The Tutor, Eden, Cold Copy, and Ice Road: Vengeance all debuting on the platform in recent years.

What is Bunny about?

Marking the directorial debut of Ben Jacobson, the film is a fast-paced, anxiety-inducing comedy set entirely in and around a New York City tenement building. It channels the energy of classics like After Hours or the Safdie Brothers’ work, focusing on a single day where everything goes wrong.

The story follows Bunny, a streetwise hustler who is usually the one fixing problems for his neighbors. But when a job goes sideways, he returns home with a dead body (or two) on his hands. With the help of his best friend Dino, he has to navigate a chaotic 24 hours involving nosy cops, an Airbnb guest looking for love, and his girlfriend’s estranged father showing up unannounced.

The official synopsis reads:

“Over one wild summer day and night in their East Village tenement, streetwise hustler Bunny (Mo Stark) and his friend Dino (Ben Jacobson) scheme with a crew of eccentric neighbors to cover up a dead body. Chaos reigns as the clock ticks and the walls close in.”

Bunny Trailer #1 (2025)

Upon its release, the film picked up positive reviews, including picking up the coveted NYT Critic’s Pick award from author Natalia Winkelman, who concluded, “Bunny” is a New York movie that eschews realism but still brims with authentic affection, and in doing so, bursts with life.”

Echoed in those sentiments is Jordan Mintzer for THR, who wrote, “Bunny is ultimately more of an immersive experience than a film, allowing viewers to feel what it’s like to live in one of those dimly lit, overpacked walkups where strange odors always linger in the air and there’s no such thing as a peaceful night.”

Who is in the cast?

The film features a script co-written by the director and his lead actor, creating a lived-in, authentic chemistry:

  • Mo Stark stars as the titular Bunny.
  • Ben Jacobson (the director) co-stars as his best friend, Dino.
  • Liza Colby as Bobbie.
  • Henry Czerny (Mission: Impossible, Ready or Not).
  • Ajay Naidu (Office Space).
