The second annual Hospitality Show, produced by Questex and the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA), concluded last week at the Henry B. González Convention Center in San Antonio. The event lasted three days and provided networking opportunities, innovative solutions, and industry insights to boost the hospitality sector.

This year’s show saw significant increases in both attendees and vendors, with a 26% rise in attendance to 4,800 people and a 43% growth in vendors to 460.

The Hospitality Show 2024 commenced on October 28, with AHLA’s annual GM Summit program. The program honors the achievements of general managers who have gone above and beyond in creating remarkable guest experiences. Top general managers were later celebrated on the main stage.

A panel discussion titled “Navigating the Dynamics of Ownership and Management” was moderated by Chirag Shah, AHLA’s Executive Vice President of Federal and Political Affairs & Counsel. The discussion stressed the importance of unity and strategic partnerships in improving operational efficiency and driving profitability.

Renowned Chef and Humanitarian, José Andrés, gave an inspiring keynote presentation on the opening day. He urged attendees to use food as a force for good and promote positive changes within the hospitality sector.

On the second day, the vibrant expo floor featured over 400 exhibitors displaying the latest operational and technology solutions. Sessions focused on fostering growth through development, technology, and commercial strategies were held. A panel discussion examined how artificial intelligence could transform the hospitality industry by enhancing guest engagement and operational efficiency.

The final day concentrated on leveraging technology to enhance operational efficiency and the importance of sustainability. A panel discussed how digital tools can optimize guest experiences and control costs. A session titled “Green to Gold: Sustainability as Profit” shared insights on converting green initiatives into profitable ventures.

The Hospitality Show 2024 provided a platform for networking and showcased interactive exhibits. Attendees gained insights, established new connections, and learned strategies to improve guest satisfaction, streamline operations, and increase profitability.

The next Hospitality Show will be held from October 26-28, 2025, at The Denver Convention Center in Denver, Colorado.
