InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach, located on Sydney’s shoreline, has completed the final phase of a multi-million-dollar transformation. The hotel is now open and features an ocean-facing infinity pool and terrace, a Club InterContinental lounge, and pickleball courts. The Èliva Spa is scheduled to open in early May.
The property includes 198 guestrooms and suites. The transformation was designed by Woods Bagot and introduces new design elements to the hotel. The pool deck, positioned above the coastline, features a heated infinity-edge pool, private cabanas, sun lounges, and integrated seating. The terrace incorporates planters, layered planting schemes, and fire pits for winter use.
The hotel’s poolside dining offers a menu that includes classics and lighter dishes, such as ‘Nourish Bowls,’ available throughout the hotel at any time.
The Club InterContinental lounge at Coogee Beach provides a private space with an al fresco terrace overlooking the ocean. The lounge offers breakfast by the water, complimentary afternoon tea, and twilight drinks with Champagne and canapés.
The hotel has added two pickleball courts. The Èliva Spa, opening in May, will offer magnesium mineral pools, infrared and salt saunas, cold plunge baths, a crystal steam room, and a recovery lounge with wellness technologies including PEMF infrared masks, LED facial masks, compression boots, and vitamin C-infused showers. A 24-hour fitness studio is also available.
Shutters Restaurant & Bar opened with the hotel in December. The hotel provides a destination guide for guests, highlighting local activities such as snorkeling at Gordons Bay, swimming at Wylie’s Baths, and visiting neighborhood cafés.
InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach is part of a collection of over 240 InterContinental hotels and resorts. Recent announcements in the Asia Pacific region include InterContinental Port Moresby and InterContinental Barossa Resort & Spa, which are set to open in the coming years.
