From the magnificent panoramas of the Canadian Rockies to the vast expanse of the Australian outback, there are high-end railway services glamorously trundling through incredible landscapes all over the world.

However, none are quite as legendary as the Orient Express. The OG of luxury train journeys, the sleeper service has long been slated to return to Italy, and now we know exactly when that’ll happen (hint: it’s soon)!

140 years after its original launch, in the glory days of luxury train travel when you could get a train from Paris all the way to Istanbul, the brand paired with luxury Italian hospitality group Arsenale to launch six brand-new sleeper trains (and two hotels).

Aptly named ‘La Dolce Vita’, these trains will host 62 passengers on a journey through 14 regions of Italy, and with food crafted by a three-Michelin star chef, Heinz Beck.

‘The guests will have the chance to discover our beautiful country not only through its landscapes but also through our menus: from the early morning until the midnight snacks,’ Beck said, according to Euro Weekly News, ‘We want to spread the ‘made in Italy’ knowledge in a new, different way, showcasing the different traditions of each region so the passengers will be able to create a stronger and deeper connection with the territory.’

Of La Dolce Vita’s eight new routes, there’s a truffle route between Rome and Nizza Monferrato, plus a Tuscan vineyards tour that journeys to Montalcino. Guests can also expect to dine on dishes such as Sicilian arancini and Venetian tiramisu. Yum.

The routes will debut in spring 2025, and ticket prices start at around €3,500 (£2,915). For more information, check out the Orient Express website
