Jaime King 'Blindsided' by Husband Filing for Divorce

Normally, celebrity couples are on the same page by the time they make their divorce public. However, there are a few times when one of them is surprised. Jaime King revealed she was caught off guard her husband, Austin Sosa, started the legal process to end their marriage. This is what the My Bloody Valentine, 46, actress publicly said about the divorce filing.

Jaime King Believed She Was Working on Her Marriage With Austin Sosa

The investment banker, filed for divorce from King on January 22, according to TMZ. They have been married since July 2025. King was spotted in L.A. with hotelier Vikram Chatwal earlier this month. A Page Six source claimed they looked affectionate. King told the same outlet that she was “blindsided” by Sosa and gave a different perspective on their relationship.

“I was completely blindsided by the divorce filing, which came out of nowhere,” she told Page Six. “I was with Austin the night before it became public, and while, like many marriages we had normal challenges, I genuinely believed we were working on our relationship.” She then denied dating Chatwal. “Any recent interactions being referenced publicly were strictly professional business meetings and have no connection to this private matter,” she said.

The couple’s marriage wasn’t announced. They did confirm their engagement in July. The Sin City actress plans to move forward with the separation privately. “My focus right now is my work and, above all, my children,” she said. “This is deeply personal and should remain private, and I hope people will stop making assumptions — particularly ones that unfairly and disproportionately scrutinize women simply for doing their jobs.”

King has two kids, James Knight and Leo Thomas, from her previous marriage to Kyle Newman. That marriage ended in 2020. Their custody battle finally ended in March 2025 with Newman having sole custody of their sons.
