While Vecna was a major antagonist for Eleven, the Stranger Things characters’ real-life counterparts Jamie Campbell Bower and Millie Bobby Brown got along quite well.

According to Bower, he even adopted some of Brown’s on-set habits to better his acting craft. During a June 2026 interview on Collider Ladies Night, Bower said he has a tendency to watch how his co-stars on different projects ready themselves for scenes.

“I also love watching other people’s processes,” said Bower, who began playing Vecna, also known by One, or his birth name, Henry Creel, during the show’s fourth season.

The actor shared that he took notice of Brown using music while shooting scenes void of audio.

“Music for me plays a huge part in my process. And I think it plays a huge part in a lot of actors’ process. And Millie does this incredible thing where if we’re doing a scene that’s MOS, you know, without sound, she’ll play the music through a speaker. I just think that’s the coolest thing ever. I’m like I’m taking that. Like that’s a gift,” said Bower with a laugh.

In the Collider Ladies Night episode, Bower shared that his favorite moment working on Stranger Things was during a read-through of a season 4 scene between Eleven and Vecna.

“There was a moment with Millie that happened in the read-through for season 4, where I’m sat behind her. And she turned around and looked at me, in the eyes, as I start talking as Henry Creel,” said Bower in the June 2026 interview.

He explained that the moment allowed Bower and Brown to develop a trusting working relationship, which bettered their performances.

“That trust that was built right there in that moment, that was the foundation for us being able to go into season 4 and do some like really fun stuff. And stuff that I feel very, very proud of, you know, as a performer,” said the 37-year-old actor.

Stranger Things ended after its fifth season, which premiered in November 2025.
