Jason Kelce is getting his bag following his NFL retirement, and his latest contract has his fans in agreement about one thing: he’s “perfect” for it.
The former Philadelphia Eagle—and tailgating expert—partnered up with renowned charcoal grill company Kingsford to celebrate the start of the season. Tailgating season, that is.
“Football season is over, but tailgate season is just getting started,” he explained in the caption of a new advertisement uploaded to Instagram on Tuesday, March 11. “There’s always a reason to break out the Kingsford and fire up the grill. So wherever you are, whatever you’re doing…tailgate it!”

In the video, the legendary center stood over a charcoal grill stocked with various barbeque essentials. “Football is over, but with Kingsford, the tailgate burns on,” he said as he shuffled the meats around—attracting interested passersby.
“Can we tailgate a double-header?” one asked, to which Kelce affirmed, “Tailgate it!”
“How about a musical?” someone else sang, leading the athlete to whip out his surprisingly strong pipes as he sang back, “Tailgate it, tailgate it, tailgate it!”
“Hey, neighbor! Can you tailgate your neighbor’s tailgate?” a third asked, clapping a pair of tongs in the air.
“You smell what I’m cooking, Bill—tailgate it all!” he replied proudly. “Fire up the grill and find something to tailgate with Kingsford.”
All in all, fans felt that the casting could not have been better for the new commercial.
“I don’t think I realized how perfect you are for a Kingsford ad lmao,” one wrote, while another agreed, “This is so perfect! He gives off the best of the best dad vibes!!!”
“King Of Best Commercials,” a third dubbed him, while a fourth wrote, “That guy!!!! Legend 🔥.”
One also complimented his efforts on his weight loss journey, writing, “You look so trim Jason,” in the comments.
Kelce has been open about his fitness goals since retiring from the NFL team at about 295 pounds.
He lost approximately 15 pounds within just a few months of announcing his retirement last March and has continued to show off his progress here and there, suggesting in an interview with GQ that his ultimate goal is around 250 to 260 pounds.
“I don’t want to get too small,” he told the publication this past summer.
