Trouble is brewing between Jay Manuel and Pamela Chavez on TLC’s Jay & Pamela, thanks to his new personal trainer.
In March, TLC viewers were introduced to Manuel, 28, and Chavez, 30, who have the same rare genetic condition, osteogenesis imperfecta Type 3. They have brittle bones that can break easily and use electric wheelchairs.

As the couple continues to plan their wedding and gain more independence on the show, they deal with many of the same relationship issues that anyone else would—including jealousy.
TLC shared an exclusive clip with Parade for the April 1 episode of Jay & Pamela. And let’s just say, things got a bit tense after Jay posted on social media about his new female trainer.
“So I saw your post,” Pamela said, to which a confused Jay replied, “What post?”
“‘I can’t wait to get to know you.’ Your new trainer…What was that all about?” she demanded.
“Well, ‘cause after my first session, I’m going to be going there more,” he explained. “So, I’m going to have to get to know her.”
“And then you didn’t tell me she was a woman,” Pamela pointed out.
Meanwhile, Jay laughed uncomfortably at the accusation.
In a confessional, Pamela explained that her last serious relationship before Jay was “painful.”
“My ex-boyfriend started dating one of my best friends,” she told producers. “Now that we’re planning for the wedding…I feel very vulnerable. And very protective of Jay.”
“Why are you laughing?” she said to her fiancé. “It’s not funny. Are you lying about something?”
Pamela noted that although Jay has autism, she’s had “really messed up experiences with cheating,” and his not taking her concerns seriously can be “triggering.”
“I don’t think it’s funny,” Jay clarified. “It’s an uncomfortable situation, so…”
“Why?” Pamela pressed. “Because you did something more than training?”
Fans will have to tune in to see how the conversation played out. New episodes of Jay & Pamela on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
