Country music star Jelly Roll showed off his slimmer figure after dropping nearly 200 pounds. The “Liar” singer stepped out in Miami on May 2 when he attended the Amex x Carbone Beach 2025, an event that celebrates Miami’s race week.
The annual event is hosted by Jeff Zalaznick, Mario Carbone, and Rich Torrisi of hospitality company Major Food Group in partnership with American Express. This year, Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, performed at the event, which was attended by some other big names, like Patrick Mahomes, Lindsey Vonn, Bethenny Frankel, and Tom Brady.

Fans have been elated for Jelly Roll, whose been on a health journey for several months now. He’s completely changed his diet and became more mindful of what he’s putting into his body. His success has been amazing.
“I think that people who become as big as I became, when they lose the weight, they’re kind of ashamed,” he said on the Dumb Blonde Podcast — that’s hosted by his wife, Bunnie Xo — in December. “They’re so ashamed that they go hide and lose the weight, and then they come back out and they don’t really know how to interact with the world.”
“What I want the world to know, and I want people to see … is that I didn’t become successful because of my weight. I became successful in spite of it. I somehow managed to be this successful carrying 550 pounds. That’s insane,” he continued.
Jelly Roll is hoping to drop more weight and has a new goal in mind. At Pat McAfee’s Big Night AHT show last month, the country sensation said that he’s hoping to lose another 100 pounds so that he can go skydiving with his wife in Sweden.
