Hoda Kotb recently experienced a wardrobe malfunction on Today With Hoda & Jenna—and Jenna Bush Hager urged her to “free your boobs.”
On Thursday, July 4, Kotb, 59, told her co-host, Bush Hager, 42, that the red dress she wore for Independence Day just wasn’t cutting it.
“The bra’s not working,” she declared. “The outfit doesn’t work. The bra’s too big, the straps are too small.”
But she didn’t stop there.
“You know when you wear a dress that you shouldn’t wear it. You know when you’re like, ‘Everything’s hanging out. It’s not right.’ But you know what, I just decided I’m going to do it,” Kotb continued. “Have you ever gone to a party and gone, ‘It’s fine,’ and then you spend the whole party pulling and shoving and stuffing? It’s not good.”
To that, Bush Hager added, “Or you have too much cleavage, and you don’t love it to begin with.”
Kotb then confessed she felt like she was “falling out” of the dress before the former first daughter made a bold offer. “Will you ever just free your boobs?” Bush Hager wondered, to which Kotb declared, “No!”
“Free your boobs, Hoda. It’s time,” she insisted. “…At this point in your life when you’re turning almost 60, free your boobs. Let’s free them.”
After Kotb turned down the offer, Bush Hager added she would “do it real quick and slide it through.”
“The answer’s no,” Kotb insisted.
Later, the women were still giggling over the incident when Sean Hickey, an associate producer for Today, joked that he “also took my bra off.”
This prompted Bush Hager to ask, “Don’t you feel better, Sean?” and to say of Kotb, “If she pulls on it one more time, I’m pulling her bra off during commercial.”
