Jessica Simpson is the latest in a long line of celebrities to have fans say they look completely different, stunning Instagram users with her unrecognizable appearance in a newly shared photo.

The 44-year-old took to Instagram early in the morning hours of Tuesday, Dec. 17, with an image that appeared to have been taken in a recording studio, showing a stack of sound equipment tucked away into an alcove behind her and a keyboard as well as instrument cases to her right.

She wore a distressed fishnet catsuit underneath a satin monochromatic two-piece lingerie-inspired outfit with a black blazer and flame-accented platform stiletto boots as she draped herself across a chair in the middle of the room, leaving her hair down. For glam, she wore a neutral lip and blush with a bold eye look, though, as some commenters pointed out, she appeared to have used a filter to completely smooth her complexion.

“I can’t wait for y’all to hear the soundtrack of my soul 💿,” she captioned the snap, implying that she’s hard at work on her next album, but fans were a little too distracted to hone in on the promise of new music, suggesting she looked like all manner of other blonde celebrities more than herself.

“I don’t even recognize this person,” one person commented, while many originally believed the photo to be of Paris Hilton or Ivanka Trump

“I didn’t know there was a Jessica Kardashian,” someone else quipped, with another suggesting she was “a Jess Simpson body double.”

“Girl who is this?” another commenter questioned, with a similar sentiment affirming, “I had no idea who this was.”

“Embrace getting older and start with this foolishness editing,” someone else suggested.

A few fans stepped in to defend her, though, with one writing, “she seems healthy, happy, and free so maybe yall should just applaud her for living authentically and keep it moving,” and another encouraging, “We need a this as your new profile pic queen 🔥.”
