Jimmy Fallon made a surprise appearance at Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats’ sold-out show Thursday, March 27 at Madison Square Garden in New York City to the delight of fans at the iconic arena and on social media.

The Tonight Show host joined the indie soul band for a rousing version of their hit “S.O.B.” during the encore. Fallon’s guest shot follows the band’s appearance on Monday, March 24 on The Tonight Show.
Fallon was dressed in a beige polo shirt, white sweater, blue slacks and shades and he joined Rateliff in a rousing version of the hit with the two trading vocal lines like seasoned soul shouters at the beginning of the song. Once the tune kicked in, Fallon went into full Blues Brother mode, dancing and singing with abandon.
Fans and Rateliff praised Fallon for his performance, with the singer posting on Instagram, “Son of a….Thank you @jimmyfallon for surprising the best crowd in the best city last night. Love you bud ❤️” along side video of the performance on Instagram.
“Dang Jimmy can sing🔥 but he can’t quite top that honey Nathaniel has!” one fan commented.
“❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ that was so special 😍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I couldn’t stop laughing 😂,” wrote another.
While a third added, “Last night was f–king electric!! Jimmy was a sweet surprise.”
Rateliff & the Night Sweats wrap up their first arena tour with shows Thursday and Friday, March 28 and 29 at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston. They’re touring to support their latest album South of Here.
