Vertigo Theatre is a leading Calgary arts organization, entertaining audiences for nearly 50 years. We are the only theatre in North America dedicated entirely to the intrigue and mystery genre. Located at the base of the Calgary Tower, Vertigo serves a diverse audience and is an active part of Calgary’s arts community.
The Role
Vertigo Theatre is seeking an organized and friendly Development Coordinator to support fundraising, donor relations, and partnerships. Reporting to the Director of Fund Development and Partnerships, this role supports annual giving, donor stewardship, sponsorships, and events.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, managing details, and supporting the arts in a non-profit setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate annual giving initiatives, including auctions, raffles, 50/50 draws, casinos, and campaigns
• Support donor stewardship, recognition, and database management (Spektrix), including tax receipting and reporting
• Prepare and administer sponsorship agreements, invoicing, and in-kind gifts
• Coordinate and host fundraising, stewardship, and theatre events
• Assist with donor communications, mail-outs, and collaboration with the Marketing team
• Manage the Vertigo Theatre Lobby Art Gallery and support other fundraising and engagement initiatives as needed
Qualifications
• Minimum two years’ experience in an administrative or development role; arts or non-profit experience preferred
• Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience is an asset
• Strong communication skills and a professional, approachable manner
• Experience with databases (Spektrix an asset) and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Event coordination experience and ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
• Interest in arts and culture; Adobe Creative Suite knowledge is an asset
• Grant research and writing (or a willingness to learn and develop into this over time)

Hours & Compensation
• Full-time (40 hours/week; some evenings and weekends required)
• Salary: $40,000–$45,000, plus extended health and dental benefits after probation
• Three weeks’ vacation annually, plus additional holidays as determined by management

Early to mid-February 2026 (negotiable)
