About Vertigo Theatre
Vertigo Theatre is Canada’s National Theatre for Intrigue and Mystery, and Calgary’s second largest professional theatre. Located at the base of the Calgary Tower, and heading into its 49th season, the Vertigo Theatre complex is home to our administration, ticket offices, and two performance venues. About the Position
To further its commitment to education and professional development, Vertigo Theatre is seeking Production Apprentices for its 2025-2026 season. This is an entry level position where the chosen candidates will be exposed to all the aspects of a professional production and will include everything from participating in lighting hangs, sound and set install, props building/sourcing, rigging, paint, special effects, projections, and wardrobe.

The successful candidates will be motivated individuals who have a keen interest in developing their skills in theatrical production and are well suited to recent graduates of a theatre school program or people possessing technical or production skills in theatre.

Suggested Skills:
– Comfortable working at heights
– Able to lift up to 50 lbs
– Comfortable using power tools
– Excellent communication skills
– Ability to take direction & work independently

Qualifications:
– Must be a team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn
– A degree or diploma in Technical Theatre or equivalent experience

Hours:
Average of 40 hours per week. Schedule to be set with the Technical Director based on the needs of the production, which may include evenings and weekends. These positions are subject to an averaging arrangement as per the Alberta Labour Standards Code.

Dates:
The Brothers Paranormal: September 2nd – October 10th, 2025
Peril in the Alps: October 20th – November 28th, 2025
A Killing Snow: February 16th – March 27th, 2026
The Verdict: April 13th – May 22nd, 2026

Compensation:
$840 per week plus 4% Vacation Pay

Deadline to Submit:
