General Hospital fans were treated to a nostalgic surprise when Jonathan Jackson briefly reprised his role as Lucky Spencer, the son of iconic super couple Luke (Tony Geary) and Laura (Genie Francis). In a new interview following his latest accolade, the five-time Daytime Emmy winner opened up about the types of storylines he’d love to see for Lucky in the future.

Speaking with JLJ Media’s Candice Mack after winning Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Daytime Drama Series at the 52nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, Jackson shared what future storylines he envisions for Lucky. “I mean, a couple things,” the actor teased during the interview.

“I love the adventure stuff,” Jackson said. “I would love if there was a way to show him traveling around the world, for some interesting reason.” He added that such a storyline would echo Lucky’s legendary father, Luke Spencer, known for globe-trotting plots that defined General Hospital’s classic era. “He’s like Luke, very much like his father.”

Jackson also shared that he’d love to see Lucky’s musical side explored on screen. “I would say maybe some music,” he said. “We’ve hinted at that over the years, but I think some more of that coming out of him could be kind of fun.” This suggestion reflects Jackson’s real-life passion as a musician he has contributed to songs to General Hospital in the past.

Jackson originally left the role in 1999, reprised it in 2009, made a brief return in 2015, and most recently appeared in a nine-month stint in 2024.

In addition to General Hospital, Jackson has appeared on Boy Meets World, One Tree Hill, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and Nashville. Jackson is also a published author, and musician, serving as the frontman for his band Enation.
