Jujutsu Kaisen fans can take a breather: season 3 — known to those in the know as The Culling Game Part 1 — is on the horizon, premiering in 2026. The announcement came with a brand new trailer focused on what promises to be a brutal stretch of story.
Confirmed right after season 2’s finale — and set right after the events of the Shibuya Incident arc, too — the Culling Game arc season will bring about a violent tournament, courtesy of curse-slinger Kenjaku, to screen. Though MAPPA has plenty on its plate, including the Chainsaw Man movie, the studio is once again at the helm.
What else can fans expect from season 3? Considering what goes down in the Culling Game arc, the longest stretch in creator Gege Akutami’s series, the show should gain a whole bunch of new characters and cast in the upcoming season. Major players like Higuruma, Takaba, Kashimo, and Naoya join the series alongside the return of Yuta Okkotsu from Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and, well, minor spoilers so let’s not say. And if MAPPA sticks to the pacing of the first two seasons, season 3 could land on a perfect cliffhanger that sets the stage for Jujutsu Kaisen’s final act.
Once again, Hiroshi Seko is writing the series, with Yosuke Yajima and Hiromi Niwa on character design. Yoshimasa Teuri is also back to score the season. If you dug the last season of JJK, you are pretty much guaranteed to dig this.
