Country singer Kacey Musgraves, known for hit songs like “Slow Burn” and “Follow Your Arrow,” announced that she was “hard launching a new relationship” in her latest update as she revealed her new horse, Nava.

The Grammy-winning artist shared the personal update on Instagram on Aug. 14, writing, “Hard launching a new relationship. 🤎 I met this girl in Oregon last summer and fell in love but it didn’t work out at the time.”

She continued the meaningful message, saying, “She is the horse that reconnected me with my love of riding again and in a bout of sweet serendipity, she popped back into my life a whole year later. She just made the trek to Tennessee to her forever home. Her name is Nava.”

Musgraves thanked the people who helped get Nava to her new home before declaring, “Thank God for good people and good horses.” In the photos, Musgraves rode Nava and cuddled close to her, giving her some special attention.

Fans Shower Musgraves With Support

Musgraves’ fans fell in love with Nava just as quickly, with comments on the announcement post like, “No better feeling- congrats on your new baby 🐎💕,” and “There is nothing better than a strong bond with a beautiful mare ♥️.”

“Congratulations to one of our favorite horse girls! 💚🐴,” read another kind comment.

Others cheered, “What a beauty!!!!! 😍,” “Best hard launch I’ve ever seen,” and “So happy for you 🥹🥹🫶🏻.”

A different fan declared, “she is so gorgeous 😍 just like her new mama 😉.”

Musgraves Has a Deep Love of Animals

Along with her new horse Nava, the singer also has two beloved dogs, Pearl and Pepper. They all live together at Musgraves’ home in Nashville, Tenn. Late last year, Musgraves shared that Pearl wasn’t doing so well, with the 15-year-old dog “still hanging on but is very near the end.”

In an Instagram Story all about Pearl, via People, Musgraves wrote, “I told her it was okay if she needs to cross that rainbow bridge.” Despite this sad update, it doesn’t appear that Pearl has died yet, as Musgraves shared no further news about the situation.

The country star seems to have other horses at her Nashville home as well, with Musgraves sharing photos of a cream-colored horse in what appeared to be her barn earlier this year.

She also seemed to welcome a horse named Mismo to the family back in 2016, as reported by Taste of Country, although the post introducing the horse is no longer available on Musgraves’ social media.

In September of last year, Musgraves talked about getting into horseback riding again in an interview with The Wall Street Journal, saying, “My hobby lately has been getting back into horseback riding and learning how to jump.”

“You’re connecting with an animal that’s 1,000-plus pounds, and you’re breathing in the air and you have to be completely full-body aware. The smallest of movements can affect how something is going to go,” she concluded, explaining the challenges of the activity.
