Former reality television star Kate Gosselin shared an emotional moment featuring two of her eight children as she prepared for some time away from home.

On September 16, Gosselin shared a new video on her TikTok page that gave fans a rare glimpse of two of her sons. In the caption, she wrote, “Come along on Meika’s first road trip!”

The beginning of the video showed two of Gosselin’s sons kneeling to give their dog, Meika, hugs and kisses. She wrote, “Our first road trip with Meika! Kids came home to say goodbye.”

She also noted that the boys “Tried to tell me they wouldn’t miss her,” to which Gosselin replied, “Suuuuurrreee.”

While Gosselin did not specify which of her kids was there to say goodbye to the dogs, it appeared to be Joel Gosselin and Aaden Gosselin. She and her other son, Collin Gosselin, remain on poor terms.

As People noted in August, Collin alleged on social media that his mom “pitted” the siblings against one another. Kate suggested in a comment on her TikTok page that Collin “knows why.” It doesn’t appear that the two have spent time together in quite some time.

The family currently owns two German shepherds. She noted that “Nuq,” whose name is Nanuq, is a “pro traveler.” However, the newer dog, Meika, hasn’t had a chance to do a road trip before.

Gosselin launched her TikTok page in July in large part to welcome Meika to the family. She wrote, “My first tik tok! Meet Meika Jane! A black working line German Shepherd. She’s 12 weeks old now and we’ve already started training. Kids are grown and I’m a stereotypical dog mom now!”

As the road trip began, Gosselin admitted she was quite nervous about how the dogs would do. She mentioned that while Nanuq was a seasoned traveler, this would be the dog’s first time having to share space in the car with another pup. Luckily, “Somehow Meika knew her assignment and stayed on her side!”

During their road trip, Gosselin was thrilled that the two dogs walked together smoothly, something that doesn’t usually happen at home. They posed adorably for photos, and Gosselin mentioned keeping Meika on a regimented schedule of nausea meds.

There was one disappointment during the trip, though. “Sadly, we did lose a key player along the way,” Gosselin revealed. The first ball Meika was “ever obsessed with” fell in a sewer grate and could not be retrieved.

Overall, Gosselin gushed, “All in all these girls are making me proud!” She did not reveal where they were headed or how long the road trip would last. However, she promised she would share more details soon.
