Keanu Reeves is setting the record straight about those wedding rumors.

The John Wick star addressed recent speculation that he secretly married longtime girlfriendAlexandra Grant while attending the premiere of his new film Good Fortune on Monday, October 13. Though his response was charmingly flustered, it made one thing clear: there was no wedding.

“Well, that wasn’t the first time, and, you know, we’ve been going out for a long time,” Reeves stammered as he answered the E! News reporter’s question. “I mean, the wedding… it was… I mean it’s a nice thing, people did a lot of nice messages and stuff but Alexandra just did a wonderful, kind of addressing, like ‘thank you, but here’s some reality.”

It was clear Reeves was caught off guard with the question, as he gave a bit of a sheepish grin and shrugged as he concluded his response. However, fans found the response perfectly charming — and perfectly Keanu Reeves.

“He’s so awkward. Lol,” one fan noted on X, replying to a video of the interaction.

Another stated, “That’s the most Keanu Reeves response ever…”

The 61-year-old Matrix alum’s ambiguous answer follows public statements from their respective camps earlier this month regarding the rumors. A day after Reeves’s publicist denied the secret marriage, Grant, 52, addressed the swirling rumors on Instagram. She posted a photo of her and Reeves kissing on the steps of Roden Crater and captioned it, “This is a real photo. Not an engagement photo or an AI wedding announcement… simply a kiss!” She added, “Thank you to everyone for the congratulations on our wedding. Except we didn’t get married,” before warning fans to “be careful out there” about circulating “fake news.”

Reeves and Grant first collaborated professionally on the book Ode to Happiness in 2011, which Grant illustrated, and later Shadows in 2016. The duo stepped into the public limelight as a couple in 2019, attending the LACMA Art + Film Gala together.
