Mark Consuelos may want to consider keeping the old saying, “Have you examined your zipper lately?” top of mind after he experienced an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction Wednesday, March 12, on Live With Kelly and Mark.
During the opening segment of the show, Consuelos, 53, was unzipped as he appeared alongside his wife and co-host Kelly Ripa, 54. The snafu became even more apparent when Consuelos leaned back in his chair.

It wasn’t until the “Stump Mark” graphic appeared on screen, nearly 12 minutes into the show, that Consuelos realized his situation. “My zipper’s down!” he exclaimed.
When the couple appeared back on screen, Ripa took a glance down at Consuelos’ lap and laughed.
“Did anybody notice that?” she asked.
“No! My fly was down the whole time!” her husband shot back. “That was my brother getting me back,” he added, but he didn’t explain how that was possible.
By the end of the episode, the duo managed to turn the mishap into material for the show by reading a few comments from viewers.

“I noticed Mark’s fly was open when he was speaking about Princeton,” one viewer said, leaving Ripa to joke, “Sometimes it’s Groundhog Day every day.”
Just last month, Ripa called out Consuelos for the bad on-air habit of zoning out, which Jimmy Kimmel highlighted during the couple’s recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
In the interview, Ripa revealed that the pair “don’t really talk about work at home, ever, because we’re there so we don’t have to fill each other in. We already know, and what happened and how bad or good it was.”
Then Kimmel played a recent clip from Live With Kelly and Mark in which Ripa told Consuelos that she thought he “just drifted off and started thinking about something else” in the middle of an on-air conversation.
Sounds like Consuelos might have to work on being more present on the set of the show for the sake of his wife and his zipper.
