Mark Consuelos recently made an admission on live television that his wife, Kelly Ripa, said helps her understand him in a whole new way.
The LIVE With Kelly and Mark co-hosts were discussing clips that they watch on social media when Consuelos, 53, revealed that he enjoys watching certain cleaning and organizing videos. Their show posted footage from their discussion on Instagram on Wednesday, Feb. 12, with a warning that it contained content that was “NSFW” or not safe for work.

“I came across these videos online of overgrown lawn,” the Riverdale actor said, explaining that the person in the video will, in “super speed,” mow and edge the lawn, transforming it into “this beautiful thing” by the end of the video.
“I love it so much,” Consuelos admitted. He began to talk about other videos he enjoys that involve unclogging drains when his wife interrupted.
“I like that you’re the kind of guy that watches videos like that, instead of dirty videos,” she said.
“Yeah, well. It’s porn to me,” he said before shifting his focus to videos that involve “watching people clean extremely dirty rugs.” Consuelos closed his eyes as he gushed, “Oh, I love it so much.”
“Do you want to be alone for a while?” Ripa, 54, joked.
In short order, Consuelos requested that “the love music” play in the background for their live audience and for the viewers at home. “Mark is gonna put us in a romantic mood right now,” Ripa told their fans before turning to her husband and asking, “What are you watching on social media, Mark?”
“There’s this filthy rug—and when I mean filthy with a capital filth,” he said before going on to describe the power washing process demonstrated in the video he’d seen.
As their conversation continued, Consuelos recalled tidying the tassels on a rug in his parents’ home as a child, a revelation that Ripa said was “explaining you to me in such a way that all of the marriage counseling in the world could not possibly” achieve.
“I now get it,” Ripa said. Her husband’s resurfaced childhood memory inspired one of her own to surface from their early years working together on All My Children. Ripa recalled catching Consuelos staring at her once while she was eating a bagel, and asking him, “What are you looking at?”
“He’s like, ‘Do you want a plate?’” Ripa remembered. “And it never occurred to me that that was so distressing to him.”
“I could fix you,” he joked, prompting them both to break into a fit of laughter.
