KFC is kicking off the new year with a brand-new menu item that fans are already saying tastes “incredible.”

The new release, the Matty Matheson $5 Cheesy Nuggy Gravy Bowl, is the fast-food fried chicken joint’s iteration of the Canadian-famous poutine dish, and officially drops today, Monday, Jan. 5, 2026.

KFC’s new bowl is savory and delicious, according to fans and food insiders who ran out and grabbed it on the first day of its release. It combines nuggets, fries, and cheese curds, topped with a gravy sauce—and with the budget-friendly price tag of just $5, it’s bound to become a menu favorite while it lasts.

Trusted social media foodie Snach With Zach tried the special offering in an Instagram video, marveling over its flavor. “That whole combo’s fire,” he noted after trying a bite, admitting, “I freaking love the KFC nuggets, so when you add in that gravy, all around, really tasty.”

In the comments section, fast food lovers reported excitement, as they shared their desires to get their hands—and taste buds—on the mouthwatering release for themselves.

“OBSSESSED,” one said, while another noticed, “These look so good!”

Someone else admitted they were “So freaking jelly right now” at the sight of the influencer trying the new menu release.

Meanwhile, Eats by Natt also raved over the item, calling it “one of the best” things she’s ever had from the eatery while describing the new cheese curds as “beautifully crisp and slightly sweet.”

The Matty Matheson $5 Cheesy Nuggy Gravy Bowl is available for a limited time at select locations.

Parade reached out to KFC for comment, however a rep was not immediately available.
