Kimpton, an IHG Hotels & Resorts subsidiary, is set to expand its presence in Mexico with a new hotel and branded residences in Monterrey. This will be Kimpton’s sixth property in Mexico. The Kimpton Monterrey is planned to open in 2026 within the Torre Rise, a new mixed-use tower expected to be the tallest in Latin America.
The hotel, owned by Grupo Alora and managed by Marca Hotel Solutions, will include 120 guestrooms and 60 private residences. The expansion reflects IHG’s ongoing growth within the branded residences sector. The hotel will offer a wellness center with an indoor pool, sauna, massage treatment rooms, a full-service restaurant, and a lobby lounge on the 16th floor. Other amenities include a 1,244-square-meter space for events and meetings.
Kimpton Monterrey will be situated in a central location, providing easy access to local galleries, shopping destinations, businesses, medical centers, and the skyscraper’s amenities, including a sky deck, performance center, elevated park, and luxury retail.
The Monterrey property will join other Kimpton locations in Mexico, including Mexico City’s Kimpton Virgilio, Kimpton Mas Olas Resort & Spa in Todos Santos, and Kimpton Aluna Resort in Tulum. Other upcoming openings include Kimpton Tres Rios Riviera Maya, the brand’s first-ever all-inclusive resort, and another boutique hotel in Mexico City’s Polanco neighborhood. As of September 30, 2024, the Kimpton brand has 78 hotels open globally, with 57 more projects underway.
