A few years ago after obsessing over it (and saving) for months I took the plunge and bought Anthropologie’s fan-favorite Fern Marble Top 3-Drawer Storage Cabinet. It felt like so much to spend on a piece of furniture (because it was), but to this day I love that thing. So much so that my husband refers to it as my fourth child (in addition to my three actual children). No buyer’s remorse here.

However I am always looking for Anthro dupes and pieces that will complement my “fourth kiddo,” particularly anything that features that similar arch design. Not that I need everything my home to have arches (we’re not a McDonald’s), but I do really like the look. It feels elegant and quaint all at the same time.

With this in mind, my gaze immediately turned to the Prepac Ark Tall 5-Tier Bookcase at Kohl’s, which retails for $324.99 (a small fraction of what I paid for that Anthro piece).

The bookcase can hold up to 100 lbs. (more specifically, 20 lbs. per shelf) and has three adjustable shelves so that you can customize it for your needs. It’s made from engineered wood and, yes, assembly is required so consider all of that before you decide to drop around $325 for it.

If you really want to go ham on customization, this would look so pretty with some peel-and-stick wallpaper lining the back wall of the bookcase. Use peel-and-stick so that if in a year or even a few months you decide you want to bring back that natural wood look, you can do so easy peas-y.

What People Are Saying

There aren’t any reviews for the bookcase on Kohl’s site, but the exact same product is sold at Home Depot and their shoppers are loving it.

“Beautiful bookcases, and they look very high end,” says a customer named Chris. “Easy to assemble.”

Another shopper agrees with all of the above.

“I am so happy with this purchase,” they wrote. “Easy to follow instructions for assembly. The product itself is very nice. I’ve received so many compliments.”

Why Buy It at Kohl’s

You might be wondering, if the exact same bookcase is available at Home Depot, why purchase it at Kohl’s? For me, that’s a personal preference. Nothing against Home Depot (they have some great buys) but I’m a sucker for earning Kohl’s Cash. And on this bookcase purchase, you can earn $60 in Kohl’s cash to use at a later date, plus 5% back in Kohl’s Rewards (assuming you’re a Kohl’s Rewards member). Koh’s Cash feels like free money, and since I’m regularly shopping there anyway, it feels like a win-win.
