Former NFL star Jay Cutler, previously married to reality star Kristin Cavallari, spent some time in a Tennessee jail on Thursday, Oct. 17.
According to a report from TMZ, Cutler was arrested in Franklin, Tenn., for driving while intoxicated and possession of a handgun while under the influence, in addition to failure to exercise due care and violation of implied consent law.
After several hours in the Williamson County Jail, Cutler posted a $5,000 bond and was released. He has not yet publicly commented on his arrest.

The retired quarterback was in the NFL for 12 years, playing for the Chicago Bears, Denver Broncos and Miami Dolphins.
Cutler and Cavallari tied the knot in 2013 but divorced in 2022. While together, they starred in the Nashville-based reality show Very Cavallari with their three children, Camden, 11, Jaxon, 9, and Saylor, 8.

In the Oct. 1 episode of her podcast Let’s Be Honest, Cavallari opened up about her current co-parenting arrangement with Cutler.
“When I was dating last fall, I was still doing split custody with my ex and I had every other week off from my kids and that’s changed,” she said. “I’m really happy and really content having my life right now being about my kids and work.”
Cavallari recently broke up with Mark Estes, while Cutler went public with his relationship with Samantha Robertson in September 2023.
