It’s officially the end of an era for a legendary nightclub in Ontario, which is shutting down this weekend following 20 years in business.

If you’ve ever spent a weekend out in Niagara Falls, chances are you might’ve found yourself at Dragonfly Nightclub, which is located on the concourse level of the Fallsview Casino Resort.

The 12,000-square-foot club quickly became a fixture of Niagara’s nightlife scene, and was known for its immersive LED video screens that covered the ceiling above the dance floor.

The INK Entertainment-owned venue is preparing to shut down, although something new and exciting will be sweeping in to replace it.

The devastating closure was announced via the nightclub’s Instagram page, and regulars took to the comments section to reminisce about some of the unforgettable nights they’ve had at the venue. “What a run, so many incredible memories,” one person wrote, while another commented, “Legendary! Thanks for the memories.”

“After nearly two decades as the heart of nightlife in the Niagara region, we’ve made the difficult decision to close the legendary Dragonfly,” a statement from INK Entertainment reads.  “While it’s bittersweet to say goodbye, we’re excited to announce that, in the coming months, we’ll be introducing a new concept in its place — one that reflects the changing hospitality and nightlife scene in the region.”

Dragonfly, which is located at 6380 Fallsview Blvd, will be hosting its final event on Saturday, March 1.
