Toronto comedy icon Jim Carrey has tied the knot marrying his girlfriend Min Ah in a small, private ceremony in Los Angeles.
It is Carrey’s third marriage.
The couple went public earlier this year at the César Awards in Paris, where the 64-year-old Carrey was honoured with a lifetime achievement award. During his acceptance speech, he thanked Min Ah, calling her his “sublime companion” and telling her, “I love you, Min Ah.”
The pair had reportedly been spotted together privately as far back as 2022 before making their first official public appearance alongside Jim’s daughter and grandson.
Carrey was previously married to Lauren Holley, and Renée Zellweger.
Long before he was Ace Ventura, The Mask or Dumb and Dumber … Carrey was a Toronto-area kid trying to make people laugh.
Born in Newmarket in 1962, Carrey grew up in the Toronto area and spent part of his childhood in Scarborough.
Carrey started performing stand-up at Yuk Yuk’s in Toronto when he was just 15 years old.
The teenager was best-known for his impressions and wild physical comedy. By his late teens, Carrey was already performing throughout Canada before making the move to Los Angeles in the early ’80s, eventually catching the eye of legend Rodney Dangerfield, who gave the young Canadian comedian a spot on his touring shows.
The rest, as they say, is Hollywood history.
