Montreal’s Weather Forecast Says It’ll Feel Like Summer Again Later This Week, Life in canada

20 November 20232 Mins Read

Quebec has decided it’s not quite done with summer. As chilly winds begin to sweep other parts of the country, the province is refusing to let go of warm temperatures.

The cold that typically blankets Montreal this time of year is taking its sweet time, allowing for a surprising burst of warmth. Over the coming days, cities across southern Quebec will experience mild September-like temperatures, according to Météomédia.

Meteorologists suggest temperatures in Outaouais, Montreal, and Montérégie could not only surpass the 15° C mark but might even hit a balmy 20° C as the week draws to an end, with Friday as the potential star of this late-October summer show.

Before you start dreaming of breaking out the barbecue, it’s worth noting that though temperatures may soar, the skies have other plans. Environment Canada’s forecast indicates the presence of clouds throughout the week, with chances of rain showers sprinkled in between.

Starting with Tuesday, Montreal can expect a mostly cloudy day with a 30 percent chance of morning showers, culminating in a high of 13°C. As we transition into the evening, similar conditions prevail, making it a cool and potentially damp night at 10°C.

Wednesday promises a significant jump in warmth. With a high nearing 19°C, the day will give a real feeling of late summer. However, nighttime remains cloudy with temperatures only slightly dropping to 14°C.

The warmth peaks on Thursday with a high of 21°C, although overcast conditions persist. By Friday, while temperatures remain at a pleasant 20°C, there’s a heightened 30 percent chance of showers. The weekend further leans into unpredictability with showers likely on Saturday, and by Sunday, a blend of rain or snow, signaling the return of typical late-autumn conditions.

The sudden resurgence of warmth is surely giving some residents a reason for a late-season wardrobe reevaluation. Despite the warmer days, however, it’s wise to keep an umbrella at arm’s length. The thermometer may suggest a return to summer, but the potential for precipitation might put a damper on any outdoor plans.
