Between songs, Lizzo opened up about an extreme low she experienced in 2023 amid sexual harassment lawsuits. The “About Damn Time” singer confessed that things got so bleak with her mental health.
“I named [my album Love In Real Life] because about a year and a half ago—it’s so hard for me to talk about—I was in such a dark, deep depression,” she told the audience in a video shared on TikTok.

“I was so heartbroken by the world and so deeply hurt that I didn’t want to live anymore. And I was so deeply afraid of people that I didn’t want to be seen,” she continued. “Eventually I got over that fear.”
A breakthrough happened for Lizzo during a concert as she walked through the crowd to take her spot.
“Something miraculous happened,” she recalled. “Somebody, who I didn’t know, looked at me and said, ‘Lizzo, I love you.’ And they reached out, and I reached back, and we hugged. And it felt so damn good.”
Lizzo called the moment “f–king life-saving.”
“Damn, you can’t get this s–t on the internet, bro,” the “Good as Hell” songstress declared. “This is the kind of love you can only get in real life. And I don’t share that story to gain some sort of sympathy. We’re beyond that, b—h. Look at me!”
In recent months, the singer has shared her impressive weight-loss transformation with fans on social media.
