The ABTA Travel Convention is scheduled to be held in Funchal, Madeira, from October 12-14, 2026, marking the first time the event will be hosted on the island.

The ABTA Travel Convention is set to occur in Funchal, Madeira, from October 12 to 14, 2026. This marks the first occasion the convention will be held on the island. The announcement was made at the conclusion of the 2025 ABTA Travel Convention in Calvià, Mallorca.

The convention will be hosted at the Savoy Palace Hotel, a five-star venue in Funchal. Delegates will also have accommodations at the nearby Next by Savoy Signature. The nearest airport, Cristiano Ronaldo Madeira International Airport, is approximately 20 minutes from the hotel.

Visit Portugal and Visit Madeira will host the event. Registration for the convention is expected to open early next year, with industry participants advised to save the dates.

This event follows previous conventions held in other parts of Portugal, including Lisbon in 2001 and the Azores in 2017. Madeira, an archipelago in the North Atlantic Ocean, is known for its subtropical climate, mountains, forests, and coastlines. The location is anticipated to offer various activities for attendees.

The convention aims to bring together leaders from the British travel industry to discuss trends and developments within the sector. The selection of Madeira as the venue highlights the island’s ongoing relationship with the UK travel market.
