The Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree has officially opened in Singapore, marking a significant development for Banyan Group as its 100th resort. The resort is located within the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, making it the first resort of its kind in a major capital city to be situated within a wildlife and nature destination. President Tharman Shanmugaratnam officiated the opening event.
The resort’s opening coincides with the inaugural Rainforest Festival, which runs from November 27 to December 3, 2025. The festival features various activities, including discovery trails, artisanal craft showcases, and wellbeing sessions. The event aims to support the President’s Challenge 2025, with all ticket proceeds being donated and matched by Banyan Group. Additional proceeds from paid experiences and merchandise sales will also contribute to the cause, with a government match under the SG60 Matching Grants.
General admission tickets for the festival are priced at S$10 on weekdays and S$15 on weekends. Children under four, in-house resort guests, and participants of paid tours or experiences at the resort and Mandai Wildlife Reserve receive free entry. Festival ticket holders can also enjoy discounts on admission to other attractions within the reserve.
The Rainforest Festival features a variety of programs, including nature walks, creative workshops, and yoga classes. The weekend will feature the GREEN-HOUSE HangOut, showcasing sustainable brands and live performances. The festival aims to integrate sustainable design and biodiversity into its offerings, reflecting the resort’s focus on nature-led guest experiences.
In addition to the festival, the resort has introduced a Silver Staycation weekday retreat for seniors aged 60 and above, available until April 30, 2026. This offer includes daily breakfast, advance purchase savings, and a complimentary room upgrade, subject to availability.
The Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree represents a strategic expansion for Banyan Group, emphasizing sustainable tourism and nature-positive development. The resort’s architecture and programs are designed to immerse guests in the rainforest environment, offering a unique experience in Singapore’s urban setting.
