Mandarin Oriental, a leading hotel and resort group, has announced its official takeover of the management of the legendary Hôtel Lutetia, now known as Mandarin Oriental Lutetia, Paris. This move expands the Group’s presence in Paris, offering a unique hospitality experience on both sides of the River Seine.

Laurent Kleitman, Group Chief Executive of Mandarin Oriental, other members of the Group’s senior leadership team, the Akirov family, owners of the hotel, and Jean Pierre Trevisan, Managing Director of Mandarin Oriental Lutetia, Paris, attended the official inauguration.

This addition allows Mandarin Oriental to offer two distinctive Palace experiences in Paris: an intimate, contemporary retreat on the Right Bank and a vibrant, heritage-rich icon on the Left Bank.

Laurent Kleitman, Group Chief Executive of Mandarin Oriental, expressed his delight over this new addition to the portfolio. He stated that Mandarin Oriental Lutetia, Paris, not only celebrates the rich heritage of the Left Bank but also epitomizes the vision for the future of luxury hospitality, where history, culture, and legendary service merge to create unforgettable experiences.

The Hôtel Lutetia was founded in 1910 and has been a symbol of Parisian elegance and culture. Over the years, it has hosted luminaries such as Picasso, Matisse, Charles de Gaulle, and James Joyce. It underwent a comprehensive restoration led by renowned architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte and reopened in 2018.

Georgi Akirov, the hotel’s owner, echoed Kleitman’s sentiments and expressed his trust in Mandarin Oriental’s management. He stressed their shared vision of honoring Lutetia’s heritage while elevating the hotel to new heights of excellence.
