IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of Mangala Estate Kuantan, a 67-villa property in partnership with the FRANKY Group of Companies. The property will initially retain its original name and join IHG’s system in mid-2026. It will undergo refurbishment before being rebranded as Mangala Estate Kuantan, Vignette Collection by IHG, in 2027.
The Vignette Collection is IHG’s first collection brand, designed to offer independent hotel owners the opportunity to maintain their property’s unique character while benefiting from IHG’s global reach. The Mangala Estate Kuantan will become part of this collection, which aims to provide distinct hotel experiences.
The resort will feature 67 villas, each with unique characteristics. The design is inspired by the natural environment, offering a setting within a nature-rich estate that includes lush greenery and palm plantations. The property is home to over 100 bird species, aligning with the Vignette Collection’s focus on sustainability and environmental integration.
Located in Kuantan, the capital of Pahang, the resort is positioned in a region known for its natural attractions, including beaches and waterfalls. Kuantan was the second-most-visited destination in Malaysia in 2024, with 2.28 million visitors, indicating a growing demand for travel to the area.
The Mangala Estate Kuantan will offer a range of accommodations, including single villas with private pools, lake-view villas, and two-bedroom villas. The resort will also feature an all-day dining restaurant, a poolside bar, and personalized dining experiences. Additional amenities include a spa, wellness facilities, and two lakes for water activities. The property will also provide meeting spaces for up to 400 people, catering to corporate events and retreats.
This development adds to IHG’s expanding Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio in Malaysia, which includes existing properties like InterContinental Kuala Lumpur and Hotel Indigo Kuala Lumpur on the Park, as well as upcoming projects such as Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur. Globally, the Vignette Collection includes 27 open hotels and has 41 properties in its development pipeline.
