William Nylander certainly seems to know how to make the most of a little break in the Toronto Maple Leafs schedule.
On Monday, Nylander uploaded a few pictures to his Instagram account of visiting one of his favourite local spots: Sugo, located in Bloordale Village near Bloor and Lansdowne.
And to little surprise, he brought along two of his friends: Banksy and Pablo, his dogs.
“Monday Sugo,” Nylander captioned the post, which showed him outstretched in a suit at a table along with the dogs.
“OPENING MONDAYS SOON?” the restaurant excitedly commented on the post, given that they’re only open six days a week and likely opened their doors just for Nylander and his dogs.
But it turns out it wasn’t just Nylander opting for a day out while dressing up — he was actually sneakily promoting something else other than the restaurant.
Nylander also tagged Toronto-based suit manufacturer Garrison Bespoke, who provided a few more photos from the shoot and some additional context for why Nylander ended up wearing a suit with his dogs to the restaurant in the first place.
“A special capsule collection designed in collaboration with Maple Leafs Star William Nylander. The tailoring capsule takes classic tailoring into the future. The pieces feature a vintage inspired silhouette and are made from a special curation of Loro Piana cloth,” Garrison Bespoke wrote in their post.
Nylander has long been a fan of Sugo’s and often wears a hat emblazoned with the restaurant’s logo while around Toronto or on the road.
He even took Boston Bruins star David Pastrnak there last year, a moment that was shown in the Prime Video docuseries Faceoff: Inside the NHL episode that focused on the two longtime friends (and divisional rivals).
